OnGuard/BASIS Issues After Installing on a New Computer or Changing Computer Name

After installing OnGuard/BASIS software on a new computer or changing the computer name, multiple issues may occur. These issues are typically caused by workstation name mismatches or licensing components not being correctly associated with the system configuration.
Description:
After installing OnGuard/BASIS software on a new computer or after changing the computer name, one or more of the following issues may occur:
Access control panels do not come online or download
Encoders or scanners do not function correctly
BEST Offline V and G Series locks display Access Denied
System Administration or Alarm Monitoring cannot be opened
Error message appears stating that the hardware key or required fingerprint was not found on the license server
Resolution:
Update Workstation Name for Access Panels
Log in to System Administration
Click the Access Control drop-down menu
Click the Workstation option in the drop-down menu
Click the Offline tab
Click the Modify button
Update the workstation name to match the new computer name
Click OK to save the changes
Update Workstation Name for Encoders/Scanners
Log in to System Administration
Click the Administration drop-down menu
Click the Workstation option
Click the Add button
Add the new workstation name that matches the computer name
