OnGuard/B.A.S.I.S License Error: Hardware Key or License Fingerprint Missing

This article explains how to reactivate OnGuard/B.A.S.I.S licenses when System Administration or Alarm Monitoring fails to open due to missing hardware keys or license fingerprints.

Description

This error message is displayed when trying to open any OnGuard or B.A.S.I.S software:

"One or more of the fingerprints such as the hardware key required for use of the following feature was not found on the machine running the license server."

Resolution

The license has been deactivated. To re-activate it, follow these steps:

  1. Open License Administration in OnGuard / System Tools
  2. Log in using the username and password (default: admin for both)
  3. Click the View button to view the license file
  4. Click the Activate option
  5. Choose the activation method:
    • Online: if the computer is connected to the internet
    • Phone: if the computer is offline or the online method fails

Applies to

This procedure applies to all versions of OnGuard software and BASIS-branded software that use a FlexNet license.
