OnGuard/B.A.S.I.S: Fix Hidden Save Button in System Administration

This article explains how to resolve an issue in OnGuard/B.A.S.I.S where the Save button is hidden behind forms due to incorrect DPI or text scaling settings.

Description

Users are unable to add access levels for badges in System Administration because the Save button is not visible. 

Resolution

This issue is caused by incorrect DPI settings or text scaling on the computer. Follow the steps below based on your operating system:

Windows XP / Vista / 7 / Server 2008

  1. Right-click on the Windows desktop and select Properties.
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  3. Click Advanced. The Monitor Properties window appears.
  4. On the General tab, for DPI setting, select Normal size (96 DPI).
  5. Click Apply or OK to save changes and exit.
  6. Click OK to exit the Display Properties.

Windows 10/ Windows 11:
Text magnification needs to be 100% for forms to display properly. For more information, See Change your screen resolution

Windows 8.1

  1. Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
  2. If prompted by UAC, click Yes.
  3. Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
  4. Double-click Win8DpiScaling and type 1, then click OK.
  5. Double-click LogPixels (or create a new DWORD (32-bit) value named LogPixels if it does not exist).
  6. Select Decimal, type 96, and click OK.
  7. Close Registry Editor, then sign out and back in or restart the PC to apply changes.
