The chart below can be used to guide your choice. It is recommended that you use 24 gage wire for power or double up 28 gage wires.
Wire Count:
9KW Power = 2 wires (54 suffix if power is doubled up, or 66 suffix with 4 unused 28AWG wires)
9KW w/ RQE = 4 wires (56 suffix if power is doubled up, or 66 suffix with 2 unused 28AWG wires)
45HW Power = 2 wires (54 suffix if power is doubled up, or 66 suffix with 4 unused 28AWG wires)
You will need a 2 additional 28AWG wires if the following sensors are called out on your model number: RQE, DS, or LS. Also IDH* is a sensor option that would require 4 additional 28AWG wires)
*IDH = a sensor option for 45HW that adds both RQE and DS.
