Maintenance – 5 Knuckle CB Full Mortise Hinges
Keep hinge surfaces clean.
Clean using a soft, damp cloth only.
Do not use chemicals that could damage the protective lacquer coating.
As required, apply Shell Darina #2, or an equivalent grease, to the non-load-bearing center hinge knuckle and pin.
Bearings do not require lubrication, as they contain polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
Lubrication Procedure
Remove the hinge pins.
Wipe or dip the pins in grease.
Reinsert the pins; the grease will work into the load-bearing surfaces.
Wipe away any excess grease and dirt from the hinge.
* Lubrication applies to hinge pins only; bearings are self-lubricating.
