5 Knuckle CB Slip-In Hinges - Application A Standard Weight

 A 5-knuckle CB slip-in hinge made of metal, shown in a front view. It features two rectangular plates connected by a cylindrical pin with five knuckles. Each plate has four countersunk screw holes arranged in two vertical rows. The hinge has a smooth, brushed metallic finish.

Maintenance – 5 Knuckle CB Full Mortise Hinges

  • Keep hinge surfaces clean.

  • Clean using a soft, damp cloth only.

  • Do not use chemicals that could damage the protective lacquer coating.

  • As required, apply Shell Darina #2, or an equivalent grease, to the non-load-bearing center hinge knuckle and pin.

  • Bearings do not require lubrication, as they contain polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

Lubrication Procedure

  1. Remove the hinge pins.

  2. Wipe or dip the pins in grease.

  3. Reinsert the pins; the grease will work into the load-bearing surfaces.

  4. Wipe away any excess grease and dirt from the hinge.

* Lubrication applies to hinge pins only; bearings are self-lubricating.
