AnswerThe issue may be caused by one of the following: - The reader is dirty or faulty.
- The cable connecting to the bottom of the lock is damaged.
Troubleshooting Steps- Take the PDA/Netbook and programming cables to another lock and attempt programming:
- If programming works: the cable is functional.
- If programming fails: replace the programming cable.
- If programming works on the test lock:
- Return to the original lock that won’t program.
- Remove it from the door.
- When B.A.S.I.S Transport prompts “Please Swipe a card…”, press the override button on the circuit board. This substitutes for swiping a card.
- If data transfers successfully, test your card to gain access.
- If it still does not work:
- Clean the magnetic swipe on the reader using alcohol cleaning cards.
- If cleaning does not resolve the issue, the reader may need to be replaced.
