Do I need a cell phone signal or internet connection to use the app to access a core or reader? No. The app stores access rights locally, securely, and encrypted. |
How are my access rights updated?Updates are pushed to your phone when it is online. If offline, the app receives updates when reconnected. |
Does this app use my data?Yes. The app uses a small amount of data for updates and audit uploads, usually a few MB per month. You can restrict it to Wi-Fi in phone settings. |
Where is the mobile app available? The app is free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Register your device through your system administrator. |
Will Bluetooth communication drain my battery? No. The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy, which consumes minimal battery. You should not notice a measurable impact on daily battery life. |
Will the app work if other Bluetooth devices are connected?Yes. The app functions alongside other Bluetooth devices, such as headphones or speakers. |
Why didn't my phone PIN grant access? The requested PIN is set by your security administrator. Contact them if you need to reset it. |
Will my app work if I get a new phone?Because the app and credential are tied to the phone, request a new registration token from your security administrator to activate it on a new device. |
Can I use credentials for multiple sites in the same app?Yes. Claiming a second credential adds that site to your list of keys. |
Can I claim multiple registration tokens from the same site? No. The app only allows credentials from different sites. Adding multiple credentials for the same site will produce an error. |
Will my phone know which site I am accessing? If background mode is enabled, yes. Otherwise, select the correct key in the app. |
Why won't my Xiaomi phone work with Switch Tech? Many international phones use custom operating systems. The app only supports Android and iOS. |
What Android OS versions are supported?Android 11, 12, and 13. |
What iOS versions are supported?iOS 12.0 and later. |
Does the core need the Set Time function run after each battery change? The RTC inside the core maintains time for about 1 minute after battery removal. If the change takes longer, the Admin user should reset the RTC via the Set Time command in the app. |
