Why are the doors on a BP-60 kit hitting after being hung on the track?

This issue is typically caused by installing the incorrect rollers for the door thickness.

Explanation:

  • The BP-60 kit includes four rollers:

    • Two rollers marked “#1”

    • Two rollers marked “#2”

  • Rollers #1 and #2 have different offsets.

  • Proper hanger selection is based on door thickness.

What to check:

  1. Review Step 7 of the BP60 & BPD60 Sliding Door Hardware Installation Instructions.

  2. Confirm that the correct hanger (#1 or #2) was installed for the door thickness.

 

Correct installation guidelines (Step 7 – Install Doors):

  • Hang the doors on the track and install the inside or rear door panel first.

  • Angle the door panel approximately 15 degrees to engage the track.

  • For 3/4" thick doors:

    • Install the panel with the 1/8" offset / #2 hanger first.

  • For 1-3/8" thick doors:

    • Install the panel with the 7/16" offset / #1 hanger first.

Using the wrong hanger offset or installing the panels in the incorrect order can cause the doors to contact each other after installation.
