Answer Shadow Cards are used with the QEL Stand-Alone lockset. When ordering Shadow Cards (part number QEL2-O) you will receive Qty (1) ISO and Qty (1) Clamshell (labeled do not issue). These two cards "Shadow Cards" are encoded with identical information. You will issue the ISO card out to the user and keep the Clamshell for safekeeping. The Clamshell will be needed to remove the card from the lockset if the ISO is lost for any reason. These cards can be reused between one user to another, as long as both cards are still onsite. If one card is lost the remaining card should be used to remove the credential from the lock then the one remaining card should be discarded. |
