Q: What is the Commercial Hardware QMS/QME100?
A: The QMS/QME100 is a grade 1 mortise lever set. The QMS100 has a sectional trim whereas the QME100 is equipped with an escutcheon trim. There is no other difference between the two locks. Aesthetics is the major reason for choosing one trim over the other. The QMS/QME100 comes standard with a lost motion chassis that provides resistance to internal damage caused by physical force to the lever. Its thru-bolt design and heavy –duty spring tension provides longer performance life and prevents lever droop.
Q: Who is the QMS/QME100 customer?
A: The QMS/QME100 is a cost-effective option for non-institutional applications such as hospitality, multifamily and commercial office spaces.
Q: How hard is it to install the QMS/QME100?
A: The QMS/QME100 is simple to install and can be done in a few minutes or less once the door is prepped. The QMS/QME100 fits the standard mortise door prep (86). Its few parts and compartmentalized packaging allows for quick and easy installation.
Q: What unique feature is found on the QMS/QME100 that makes it less susceptible to break-ins?
A: The QMS/QME100 is equipped with a breakaway outside spindle that is designed to twist off during abuse before any internal damage to the lock occurs. The lock owner would then just need to replace the inexpensive spindle as opposed to the entire lock.
Q: What functions are offered for the QMS/QME100?
A: The QMS/QME100 is available in 15 functions (i.e., single dummy, full dummy, passage, privacy, privacy w/deadbolt, entry, exit, corridor, dormitory, classroom, classroom security, apartment, storeroom, institutional and store door). When viable, the QMS/QME100 is equipped with an ADA-compliant thumbturn.
Q: What door thickness range can the QMS/QME100 accommodate?
A: The QME100 comes standard to fit doors 1 ¾” – 2 ¼” thick. The QMS100 comes standard to fit doors 1 ¾” – 2” thick. However, the QMS100 can be ordered with an optional screw pack to accommodate doors up to 2 ¼” thick.
Q: What lever styles are offered for the QMS/QME100?
A: The QMS/QME100 has 3 lever styles (i.e., Sierra, Summit & Slate).
Q: Do you have to specify handing when ordering a QMS/QME100?
A: The QMS/QME100 is shipped non-handed, so the handing must be adjusted in the field to fit the specific application.
Q: Does the QMS/QME100 come with a core?
A: The QMS/QME100 can be ordered with a Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) or as Less Cylinder.
